Thinking about the differences between the Dems and the Trump.
Trump is promising "America First" jingoism without delivering anything but racism, while riding the economic tide of his predecessor.
Consider what the Dems have been DEMANDED to fix.
1) Healthcare for all Americans
2) Student loan relief
3) A workable immigration solution
4) $15 min. wage and/or guaranteed income
5) Incremental gun regulation
6) Protecting the environment
7) Iran nuclear treaty
8) Thwarting Russian election interference
9) Reparations
10) Lowering taxes for middle class
11) Raising taxes for the 1%
12) Improving K-12 education
13) Rolling back Citizens United
14) Protecting Roe v. Wade
15) A satisfying DC Cinematic Universe (why not?)

It's perfectly fine to be in your feelings if you are upset that this country is so f*cked that your particular issue is not being trumpeted by all (or any) of the Democratic primary candidates. It's even OK if you feel that the current front runner isn't as progressive as you'd like.
But let's be clear.
Trump's advantage is that ALL HE'S REALLY SELLING is Xenophobia (let's just say racism) and financial fantasies (You'll be rich like ME if you vote for ME!!!!)
The parties are not REMOTELY similar and the Dems have a MUCH harder job. Forgive me if I'm not moved by your "well you have to excite me to earn my vote!" mantra. Excitement is WONDERFUL and Obama offered a LOT of excitement... Not enough excitement for folks to protect his congressional cushion on 2010 though, right? After he delivered huge healthcare legislation AND halted the world's biggest economic crisis in decades AND defended the entire auto industry...
That wasn't exciting enough. And it cost us a LOT in the ensuing six years... and paved the way for Trump's win.
Miss me with the whining. VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE. Not because they will be perfect, or make promises (that can never be kept unless Mitch is thrown out of power), but because POTUS is the ONE POSITION that can at least CHECK McConnell and protect the republic from the machinations of those that wish us harm. ALL of us by the way.
Don't tell me that you're voting for state and local folks but passing on POTUS unless it's someone you are personally inspired by.
Be a GROWN UP and vote to defeat the gravest threat to America that has ever been in the White House. That means casting a vote for the Democratic nominee, even if they aren't dipping your issue in chocolate sprinkles and handing it to you personally.
Apologies in advance to any hit dogs that will holler.
